Hello, Beautiful!
Let’s talk about one of my favorite things in the world, shall we? . . .
Popping champagne!
I recently had the honor of co-hostessing one of my best friend’s bridal showers at the end of March, and the day was truly such a dream. Randi-Carole, the bride-to-be, looked absolutely stunning – seriously, radiant – and the smiles and laughter of her friends and family that filled her gorgeous home that day are moments I’ll cherish forever.
Fun fact: On my wedding day, while I was getting ready with my bridal party – sipping X-mosas (my version of a spiked mimosa – comment if you’re interested in a recipe tutorial!), Randi-Carole and I were talking about how much we both love champagne. We were “flirting” back and forth with each other like only best girl friends can do, telling each other how beautiful she looked.
I told Randi-Carole that if she loves champagne so much then she’s “my little Champagne Barbie.” She instantly loved the nickname and asked me to make it official in my phone. I changed her contact name right then and there, and she’s been Champagne Barbie to me ever since a few hours before I walked down the aisle that day.
I love that RC’s drink of choice is champs, because it’s mine, too. It’s such a perfectly light and bubbly addition to any celebratory occasion, and is one of the few types of alcohol that is easy on me when it comes to next-day pain. There is seriously nothing like that first sip of tiny bubbles somehow warming my throat and tummy despite the crisp coolness of the champs itself . . . especially after a long day.
Or in the morning.
Or at a bridal shower.
Or at literally any event where I can reasonably make any connection to drinking champagne. (This post is not sponsored by “champagne,” LOL!)
Adding a bubbly bar to a celebratory event like a bridal shower is the perfect way to create a fun and interactive beverage space for your guests to enjoy. Plus, by adding orange juice and fresh fruit garnishes to the champagne to create a mimosa, you will ensure your guests don’t unexpectedly over-drink, while still getting to enjoy spiked beverages throughout the event! I’m a worrier when it comes to my guests – I grew up with a mom who is seriously “The Hostess with the Mostest!” – and want them to have the best possible experience . . . especially including them getting home to their loved ones safely at the end of the day!
Today I’m talking beautiful bubbly bars for any event that won’t break the bank! Keep on reading for an easy how-to on how Keeley and I made this bubbly bar magic happen!
For starters, Randi-Carole’s home is gorgeous. She and I have the same decor obsessions: neutrals and gold, with some greenery and rustic wood here and there. It didn’t hurt that we chose to hold the bridal shower in RC and fiance Josh’s new home, which was already filled to the brim with beautiful decor, some of which they’ve even made together.
The lovely couple hadn’t thrown a housewarming party yet, so as an out-of-town hostess it was the perfect plan to be able to utilize such a gorgeous and personal space to the sweet couple while also welcoming many of their guests to their new digs for the first time!
Keeley and I utilized Sam’s Club for the champs, OJ, and fruit. Bulk-buy stores like Sam’s Club and Costco are my go-to for party planning because of their incredible prices. If you’re wondering how much champagne you’ll need, we had 25 guests and 6 bottles of bubbles was more than plenty. We had four bottles of OJ, which was more than enough, as well! Don’t forget that with mimosas, you’ll need a little less champagne since the flute will also be filled with OJ and fruit.
We also purchased strawberries and blackberries for guests to bedazzle their drinks with! Keeley already had the plastic champagne flutes you see pictured below, but if she hadn’t, we could’ve purchased something like that at Sam’s, Costco, WalMart, Publix, Target . . .
The chalkboard signs you see pictured above and below are from WalMart and were about $1 each! They carry chalkboard pens on the same aisle (in the craft section), which is the perfect way to let guests know about their options!
The juice decanters pictured above are from Hobby Lobby’s wedding section. Keeley and I loved making this purchase because after all was said and done with the shower, we each had a cute new decanter to use at home. I would definitely recommend having at least two, maybe even three decanters of juice for your guests so there is no constant need for you to refill them.
For a super-easy DIY on the twin-wrapped “W” you see pictured above, click here. I loved making the two special pieces in that post for RC to keep to represent her new last name!
We chose to display the shower invitation on the bar because it tied to the theme of the shower – “Brunch & Bubbly” – perfectly! We also added some fresh white hydrangeas, glittery jars with LED candles (so the room didn’t get too hot or smokey!), and an engagement photo of the lovely couple.
The tassel garland and “Bubbly Bar” banner are both Etsy items. RC already had the “Bubbly Bar” banner from my bridal shower, and I already had the tassel garland from a Kate Spade theme party I threw and my wedding day! I would definitely recommend keeping any decorations you invest in for events like this because it will only make planning future events a little easier on ya!
This Friday morning, Thomas and I will be driving to Nashville to celebrate Josh and Randi-Carole’s wedding weekend. I can’t believe it’s finally here, and I am SO ready to celebrate the marriage of two very special people!
Until Next Time, Wild-Hearted Wanderer,
