Hello, Beautiful!
Let’s make some refreshing adult lemonade, shall we?
Blueberry Mint Lemonade Spritzer
I don’t know about your neck of the woods, but here in Charlotte, North Carolina, we have been feeling the heat! Each day, we reach the high 80’s or low 90’s, but Lord, does it feel even hotter than that!
We’ve been blessed with a few spring thunderstorms in between the sweltering stuffiness, but that only means some seriously foggy humidity. North Carolina aside, I know my friends in East Tennessee and Nashville have been “enjoying” the same high temperatures.
Honestly, I think it’s about time we all enjoy a nice, refreshing drink to cool the heck off!
Today we drove through Wendy’s for lunch after grabbing this week’s groceries, and I ordered a small “Natural Lemonade.” It was super tart and a little much on its own, but it gave me the idea for a super yummy summer cocktail!
We had just been to the grocery store, so we already had fresh lemon, mint leaves, and blueberries in the trunk of the jeep! And, well, I pretty much always have wine on hand, so that wasn’t an issue . . . . .
Ingredients:
- White wine of your choice (I used pinot grigio because it typically has citrus notes!)
- Lemonade (I used Wendy’s “Natural Lemonade,” but in the future I will defintely be using “Simply Lemonade,” which is even better!)
- Mint leaves
- Blueberries
- Lemon
Step 1:
Wash off blueberries and place in ramekin for later.
Step 2:
Wash off mint leaves and rub together to activate. (Trust me, that’s a thing, You can Google it.) Place mint leaves in bottom of wine glass.
Step 3:
Muddle blueberries together with the bottom of your knife (read: not the sharp side!) in the ramekin. Pour blueberries into the bottom of the wine glass with the mint leaves. Then, add ice cubes.
Step 4:
Pour the white wine in with the blueberries and mint leaves. Slice your lemon and add a garnish to the glass.
Step 5:
Pour in the lemonade, stir together, and enjoy!
I hope you enjoy this Blueberry Mint Lemonade Spritzer recipe as much as I did! It really hit the spot with all the humidity we’ve had lately. Be careful, though . . . it’s so refreshing it’s almost dangerous. Stay hydrated, ya’ll!
Until Next Time, Wild-Hearted Wanderer,
