Hello, Beautiful!
I’m so excited to share my new – and FAVORITE! and best of all, QUICK+EASY! – fall dessert recipe with you, just in time for your Friendsgiving, Thanksgiving, and any Autumn get-together on your agenda in-between!
My Fall cupcakes – which have the most mouth-watering, salty-sweet vanilla pomegranate nut crumble on top – will leave your guests feeling extra thankful this holiday season!
Let’s dive right in to Fall entertaining with Sahale Snacks, shall we?!
How delicious do these cupcakes look, ya’ll? Vanilla, pomegranate, and citrus are the perfect flavors for an Autumn get-together, and this recipe couldn’t be simpler! I plan on bringing this dish to our Friendsgiving event this-coming Sunday, and I can’t wait to see our friends’ reaction after seeing my hubby’s! (Ya’ll already know he had to shove an entire cupcake in his mouth as soon as we were done with this Sahale shoot!)
I love the juicy pomegranate arils and that hint of orange zest I sprinkled on top, but my favorite topping by far is the Sahale Snacks cashew mix I chopped up for the crunchy nut crumble on top. Before we start listing out what you’ll need for this recipe, let me give you a few shopping tips when it comes to locating Sahale Snacks at your local Giant Landover, Giant Carlisle, Martin’s, or Stop&Shop stores!
In-Store Shopping Tips:
I found my (now fave) Sahale Snacks mixes at the local Giant near my in-laws’ house, but you can actually find these tasty treats at any Giant, Martin’s, or Stop&Shop store – think Ahold stores! Once you’re at your local Ahold store, head to the Popcorn/Nuts Aisle, usually in the middle of the store! Sahale Snacks are Gluten-Free Certified, Non-GMO Project, Verified Kosher. I love that Sahale is all about changing snacking for good!
My Giant stocks Sahale Snacks on the top shelf (I mean, they are literally top shelf nuts, you guys!), probably because they’re the best. 😉 My eyes went straight to their beautiful matte packaging, and from there the struggle was only real because I couldn’t pick out which flavors to try!
The Naturally Pomegranate Flavored Pistachios Glazed Mix is a total trip for your taste buds! I’m so glad I found this flavor, which has whole roasted pistachios and almonds, cherries, pomegranate flavored apples, lemon and black pepper. Flavor explosion in my mouth? Yes, please!
The Maple Pecans Glazed Mix has roasted pecans and walnuts, sweet cherries and apples, and a special maple sugar and cinnamon glaze.
This Valdosta Pecans Glazed Mix all started with a trip to Valdosta, Georgia and a bite of crunchy, buttery praline, so it features roasted pecans, whole cranberries, orange zest, and a pinch of black pepper. Sounds like a little piece of heaven.
This Korean BBQ Almonds Glazed Mix started with smoky, spicy-sweet BBQ at a Korean restaurant, so it features whole roasted cashews and almonds, sweetened pineapple, toasted sesame seeds, and a little garlic and red chili punch!
So, I may have had to go to the store to grab the Sahale Snacks mixes I wanted to use for my Fall Entertaining post twice . . . because they looked way too good not to pack and share on my all-day hiking excursion this past Sunday! That’s how delicious these mixes are, you guys. I ate them all before I could cook with them, what is wrong with me? LOL!
Quick little kiss for my Rosie girl in-between munching my Sahale Snacks Naturally Pomegranate Vanilla Cashews Glazed Mix. And I do mean quick, ya’ll, Mama’s gotta eat!
Now that you know where to locate your own delicious bag of Sahale Snacks (just please don’t buy the Pomegranate Vanilla ones, they’re all for me), let’s get into some tips + tricks for some fabulous and stress-free Fall entertaining!
Fall Entertaining Tips:
Tip #1: Think simple, natural, and not complicated when it comes to decorating with Fall decor, and your next get-together will feel like a rustic farmhouse dream! A $1 white pumpkin from the grocery store here and a blanket scarf from your closet casually draped there, and you’re well on your way to creating a simplistic yet chic Fall aesthetic!
Tip #2: Think outside the box when it comes to using Sahale Snacks. For this entertaining spread alone, I used Sahale Snacks mix as a standalone snack for the charcuterie board, as a crumble topping for my main dessert dish, and as a crumble topping for the apple cinnamon chai goat cheese I made! I’m obsessed with the Sahale brand of nut mixes because (not only are they the BEST I’ve EVER tasted!) they’re easily able to accent my Fall food spreads in so many ways. Which leads me to my next tip . . . . .
Tip #3: Offer some snacking options that will appeal to all your friends, and don’t be afraid to “share” or “reuse” some of those options from dish to dish! You can use a few scoops of glazed nuts to complete the charcuterie board, which will satisfy your friends who looooove something salty.
Then, you can take a spoon or spatula handle to another scoop and crush that bit up until you’ve got your glazed nut crumble for the big dessert: my Pomegranate Vanilla Cupcakes with a Citrus Orange Drizzle!
BONUS PRO TIP: “WOW” your friends with TWO flavors, because two is always better than one, and the holidays serve as the perfect time to go all out (be a little extra!). I used a bag of Pomegranate Pistachios for the charcuterie board, and a bag of Pomegranate Vanilla Cashews for the cupcake topping.
Next time I put together a charcuterie assortment, I’ll definitely be adding the Korean BBQ flavor Sahale Snacks mix. I feel like that would be such a delicious – and surprising – flavor to add to the mix of olives, pickles, meats, cheeses, and fruits I like to include!
EXTRA SPECIAL BONUS PRO TIP: Decorate with leafy scented greens like Eucalyptus to create a subtle yet fresh scent within your party. I love to grab a few bundles of Eucalyptus from my local florist so that I have a few fresh greens here and there, but to be perfectly honest with ya’ll my go-to option for decorating is faux florals! The faux keeps the bouquets I choose perfectly preserved forever and ever, and even better, my guests aren’t sniffling the night away if they happen to be allergic to flowers!
Now that we’ve been over some Fall entertaining tips, let’s dive right into the recipe for my new Pomegranate Vanilla Cupcakes with a Citrus Orange Drizzle! The first – and most important thing you’ll need is a bag of the Naturally Pomegranate Vanilla Cashews Glazed Mix, so run to your local Giant, Martin’s, or Stop&Shop . . . then meet me back here!
Vanilla Cupcake Recipe:
- Preheat oven to 375f or 190c; line muffin cups with papers.
- Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy. beat in eggs one at a time.
- Add flour (mixed with baking powder and salt) alternating with milk beat well; stir in vanilla.
- Divide evenly among pans and bake for 18 minutes. let cool in pans.
Vanilla Cupcake Ingredients:
- 2 cups flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1⁄2 cup butter, softened
- 3⁄4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional)
Vanilla Cream Cheese Icing Recipe:
- Place cream cheese in a medium mixing bowl.
- Using a rubber spatula, soften cream cheese.
- Gradually add butter, and continue beating until smooth and well blended.
- Sift in confectioners’ sugar, and continue beating until smooth.
- Add vanilla, and stir to combine.
Vanilla Cream Cheese Icing Ingredients:
- 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 stick unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 cup confectioner’s sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Pomegranate Vanilla Cupcakes with Citrus – The Finishing Touches:
- Grab an orange and a grate and zest that citrus goodness over each cupcake! You’ll want to wash the orange really well since the goal is to evoke the outermost layer of the peel’s own essential oils. The bright orange color of the zest we grate off will help us liven up the cupcake’s overall look, too!
- Sprinkle pomegranate arils on top of each cupcake. Fun fact, the word pomegranate actually means “seeded apple,” but only the seeds of this delicious fruit are edible.
- Crush 1 cup of Sahale Snacks Naturally Pomegranate Vanilla Cashews Glazed Mix using the handle of a wooden spoon or spatula, whatever you have handy in the kitchen. Sprinkle this salty-sweet crumble over your cupcakes, and ta-da! You’re ready to serve THE BEST Fall entertaining dessert your friends and family have ever had!
I hope you’re having a fabulous Fall filled with time with friends, family, and togetherness! I know these incredible Sahale Snacks cupcakes are going be the icing 😉 on the cake of your festive spread this year!
