Mascara Must-Have: Givenchy’s Noir Interdit

Hello, Beautiful!

Let’s talk about the new Givenchy Noir Interdit mascara, shall we?

Outfit Details: tank is by Forever 21, skirt is Target, and the belt is vintage.

I’m just going to go ahead and put it out there by saying: I am super picky when it comes to mascara, ya’ll.

A good mascara can completely change the way you feel, even when your makeup is already on point. Killer contour, the perfect lip, eyebrows filled in . . . these magical ways to enhance our gorg features all incomplete without some sultry black lashes to look out from under.

I can find drugstore dupes for pretty much any product, and my go-to drugstore mascara is L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black. Mario Dedivanovic, Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist and longtime friend, uses this product on her, and he swears by it. Personally, I love the smooth application and the ultra-thin applicator, which is more separated, small, and firm than your typical thick, oval-shaped applicator.

If I can have an excuse to go to Target and spend $5 and get my hands on something Kim Kardashian has trusted for years, I’m happy, ya’ll.

Just Google “Kim Kardashian loreal mascara” and you’re going to get about 856,000 results. It’s a thing, and I 100% recommend giving this baby a try.

When it comes to high-end mascaras, my recent favorites are They’re Real by Benefit, Tarte’s Lights Camera Splashes, and Tarteist Lash Paint, But let me tell you . . . Givenchy’s Noir Interdit is a game changer compared to every other high-end brand I’ve tried.

Also pretty jazzed that those 4 years of French class are pulling through right now, because let me tell you . . . “noir interdit mascara” means forbidden black mascara. I mean . . . Ooh. La. La! Talk about a sexy name.

If you’ve ever had your makeup done by a professional makeup artist with a false lashes application, you know the feeling you get – that 180 difference – when you open your eyes after that lash glue solidifies. The makeup artist is holding up that circular little mirror and you finally see yourself as the actual true goddess that you are in your mind every single day. Is that just me? LOL!

Also, if you’re one of those people reading this thinking, “What the . . . I apply false lashes myself pretty much every day,” well, teach me your ways. Seriously, let me be you. I’ve tried a few times thinking “practice makes perfect” but practice is making my eyes be glued shut.

So, mascara it is for me, unless it’s a special occasion. And honestly, I’ve started to feel a little bit like every mascara is pretty much the same these days. Only slightly clumpy, somewhat hard to wash off, more darkening/color effect than anything else promise (like volume or length) . . . you know the drill. But Givenchy’s Noir Interdit is something new and different, from the 90 degree applicator to the stretching formula that defines, lengthens, and volumizes lashes all at once.

The applicator is 90 degrees and completely bendable, which really helped me sweep the product closer to the eyelid than ever before. Check out this video on Sephora’s website so you can see this applicator bending situation in action. I love that it functions with the 90 degree angle and as a traditional mascara wand with a quick tap against the mascara tube.

I also love the formula, because it smells amazing and doesn’t clump up after a layer . . . or two . . . or three. It doesn’t look fibery, if that makes sense . . .  Nor does it feel like it’s going to fall off onto my cheeks and under-eye area throughout the day. The product looks natural, thick, and full once applied, and it’s the closest my lashes have looked to when I’m wearing false lashes, especially in photos, which is a major bonus (and time-saver!).

I’m always going to keep it real with ya’ll on this blog, which is why I’m telling you I got Givenchy’s new mascara complimentary from Influenster. That’s right, ya’ll. Free. No shipping costs, no handling fees. All Influenster asks is that I review the product with my honest feedback. Whether I like it or not, a review is all that’s required, and trust me, I am pretty much always down to try a new product.
