FALLing for Pink Blush // Part 2: Sunset at Jupiter Beach

Hello, Beautiful!

Let’s talk the perfect maxi dress for all occasions, shall we?

If you’ve seen my latest post – FALLing for Pink Blush // Part 1: Sunflower Field Fun – then you know how obsessed I am with PinkBlush’s maxi dresses. They are so soft, and they are form-fitting in all the best ways. Made out of the comfiest, most breathable material, these trendy dresses are literally perfect for any occasion.

How fun and trendy is this white dress with blue and pink hues? It matched perfectly with the Florida sunset over Jupiter Beach. Those colors together are so dreamy, like cotton candy. The style and print defy being seasonal and stands out as a staple piece I’m going to turn to time and time again. I’m already thinking about wearing it for our one-year wedding anniversary – how cute would it be for a dinner date?!

FALLing for Pink Blush // Part 1: Sunflower Field Fun

Hello, Beautiful!

Let’s talk wearing dresses in the Fall, shall we?

I’m a huge maxi dress person. Probably because of the way they can accentuate the best parts of my body while hiding the not so great areas. A maxi dress makes a statement without us really having to do too much … besides pulling what feels like a nightgown over you and stepping out. 😂💃🏼

Enter Pink Blush, the cutest, trendy online boutique for women of all shapes and sizes. Pregnant, nursing, not a mommy at all … y’all, this is the first online boutique I’ve found that truly does it all. The maternity clothes are just as adorable as the women’s clothes … if not more so. Isn’t it about time that all my mama friends had a place to shop that makes them feel like they’ll have the best outfit at the event instead of one they settled on from the maternity section? Hell yes.

But what if we could have a dress that truly does it all? A dress that’s with us throughout every single stage of being the badass women we are?

Late Summer // Early Fall Fashion: Farmer’s Market Chic

Life is better when you’re laughing.

Hello, Beautiful!

I’ve rounded up my favorite go-to looks from this month, a little something I like to call “Farmer’s Market Chic.” These pieces are closet staples you can turn to again and again, and even better, they transition well from season to season. You can always count on a good pair of distressed jeans or a comfy button-down for effortless weekend fun. Rompers and flowy dresses help keep the summer at bay by being totally breathable and making a fun statement.

Whether you’re strolling through the farmer’s market, running errands, shopping, on a picnic, day trippin’, or anything in-between, these late summer-early autumn staples are so fun and functional. Let’s dive right in, shall we?

She’s one in a melon. 😉 Okay, just one punny photo of this gorgeous girl, and now we can get to it.

I’m currently obsessed with this romper dress from Target. It’s affordable, lightweight, non-clingy, breathable, and best of all works for pretty much any occasion. This baby could be dressed up for a shower, a date, brunch with the girls, or dressed down for a comfy-casual farmer’s market errands day.

Love the way the dress panels on the sides and front cover my hips in a flattering way, too. I’m not usually a “romper” girl, but this maxi version has me changing my mind for sure.

Find this yellow romper-dress with roses HERE.

Find a gorg burnt orange lace-up version HERE.

Kendra Scott’s Fall 2017 Launch Party: Behind the Scenes

Hello, Beautiful!

Let’s talk about the epic Fall 2017 jewelry line Kendra Scott debuted today, August 9th, shall we?

A Trip Through Tuscany with Kendra Scott

The thing I love most about Kendra’s Fall 2017 collection is the inspiration behind it. I adore anything that has a meaningful story behind it – a reason or purpose that makes it that much more special – and Kendra has done just that with her new collection. Inspired by the scenery Kendra shared with her family during their 2016 trip through Italy, the imagery and culture sparked the theme for this newest collection of gems.

The Story of Belle

Hello, Beautiful!

Let’s talk about how the sweetest furbaby in the world came into our lives, shall we?

So many of you have reached out to ask about the new kitten we adopted, and we feel so blessed we could adopt her. The question I’ve been getting most is about how this sweet girl came into our lives. So, I wanted to put this post together to let you in on just how little baby Belle came into our lives.

Honestly, my husband Thomas had a lot to do with this one, ya’ll. I’m usually the animal-loving softy who’s ready to melt over pretty much anything with fur. (Sorry, ya’ll, I just don’t love or care about snakes the way I do bunnies or pretty much anything else with fur.) But I think it’s safe to say that once Thomas really got his heart set on this kitty bitty, there was no turning back.

Belle is already developing such an interesting personality with all kinds of little quirks. She loves naps like any kitten, but she also always cries out to be held or fed as soon as she’s fully awake.

Farmer’s Market Chic: Photography of Cindy

Hello, Beautiful!

Happy WEEKEND.

Tonight on W&W I’m sharing some head shots I took of my sweet friend Cindy  last Sunday after we – hmm, what’s the word I’m looking for here? – twirled through the Charlotte Regional Farmer’s Market.

Cindy is my mountain soul sister in this great big city . . . we relate on a whole other level and I just adore our time together. She’s a professional photographer and beyond gorgeous, so it’s always a treat when I get her on the other side of my lens.

My Go-To Gift Company: Pavilion Gift

Hello, Beautiful!

Let’s talk about the sweetest gift company, shall we?

Pavilion Gift Company

Pavilion Gift Company is the perfect ONE STOP SHOP for all things gifts, accessories, and home decor! Pavilion only carries original designs, so you know you’re supporting a smaller business that’s completely unique from everything else out there on the market. And with more than 141 brands to choose from and about 1,500 different items to shop, there’s truly something for everyone at Pavilion.

Holding this super-comfy, lightweight tote from the brand new Pavilion Gift Company lifestyle brand Livin’ on the Wedge. How fun is the limes and lemons pattern on the front pocket?

Not going to lie to you guys – to make sure this fun tote looked its absolute best in these photos, I stuffed my favorite beach towel, 2 rolls of paper towels, and a shirt down in there. Now that I’m looking at this picture, I can’t believe all that stuff fit in this bag so comfortably . . . and there was still plenty of room to spare!

The Reason Behind Weddings & Wanderlust + 8 Fun Facts About Me

Hello, Beautiful!

Let’s talk about the major Insta love ya’ll have been kind enough to throw my way lately, shall we?

She Remembered Who She Was – And the Game Changed

I am so excited about the way this blog has grown during the last few months! I launched Weddings & Wanderlust on March 15th with 702 follower friends I hoped wouldn’t be too annoyed with me for suddenly blowing up their timeline.

Now, four months later, the blog’s following has MORE THAN DOUBLED in size . . . that’s almost 900 NEW follower friends, and I couldn’t be more thrilled that you’re all along for this ride with me. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU – from the very bottom of my heart – for following my Instagram and Blog.

If you’re new around here, WELCOME!
Did you subscribe for updates?
Are we best friends yet? Too soon?
Please don’t exit your browser.

I created Weddings & Wanderlust because creativity truly drives me. I went to law school because I am passionate about justice and knowing one’s rights under the law, and because I wanted to be able to afford my own horse stable one day. (Yes. Really.) I love working as a corporate attorney and wouldn’t trade it for the world, but that’s just not the only who I am. As challenging and incredible as it is to get to do what I do on a daily basis, that’s not all I can do.

I have to remember who I was before the world got a hold of me and tried to shape me into who I should be.

Intellect and intelligence are important, but creativity is like intelligence getting to have a bit of fun. Seeing something in the store or in my mind (or, lesbehonest, on Pinterest!) and deciding I could make that instead of buying it gives me such a rush. Imagining something that doesn’t exist and then deciding I could create that fills me with courage and confidence.

Mascara Must-Have: Givenchy’s Noir Interdit

Hello, Beautiful!

Let’s talk about the new Givenchy Noir Interdit mascara, shall we?

Outfit Details: tank is by Forever 21, skirt is Target, and the belt is vintage.

I’m just going to go ahead and put it out there by saying: I am super picky when it comes to mascara, ya’ll.

A good mascara can completely change the way you feel, even when your makeup is already on point. Killer contour, the perfect lip, eyebrows filled in . . . these magical ways to enhance our gorg features all incomplete without some sultry black lashes to look out from under.

I can find drugstore dupes for pretty much any product, and my go-to drugstore mascara is L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black. Mario Dedivanovic, Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist and longtime friend, uses this product on her, and he swears by it. Personally, I love the smooth application and the ultra-thin applicator, which is more separated, small, and firm than your typical thick, oval-shaped applicator.

If I can have an excuse to go to Target and spend $5 and get my hands on something Kim Kardashian has trusted for years, I’m happy, ya’ll.

Just Google “Kim Kardashian loreal mascara” and you’re going to get about 856,000 results. It’s a thing, and I 100% recommend giving this baby a try.

When it comes to high-end mascaras, my recent favorites are They’re Real by Benefit, Tarte’s Lights Camera Splashes, and Tarteist Lash Paint, But let me tell you . . . Givenchy’s Noir Interdit is a game changer compared to every other high-end brand I’ve tried.

Life as Newlyweds: What We’re Up To

Hello, Beautiful!

I’ve got a major life update for ya’ll – and a little bit of ‘splainin’ to do – so let’s dive in, shall we?

Ok . . . Confession: Not to be Captain Obvious, but I haven’t been blogging regularly lately . . . something you may have noticed in the past few weeks.

I threw a Memorial Day No-Bake Pie recipe your way back in late May and a yummy Hard Lemonade recipe in mid-June, but other than the Kendra Scott Shopping Party + Giveaway I held on Instagram, it’s been pretty quiet over here on Weddings & Wanderlust . . . . .

The Rain (or Monsoon, Really)

To be perfectly honest with you all, 2017 has challenged me and my husband – physically, mentally, and emotionally – much more than we ever thought possible. We rang in Thomas’s law school graduation – and the New Year – to the completely unexpected news of our law school utterly failing us in every way possible. Thomas had to handle bar study on his own instead of fully utilizing the $3,000.00 course and “bar coach” we had paid for, all while worrying about his resume, job prospects, and reputation.

I guess dealing with that catastrophe wasn’t quite enough on his plate, because by late fall/early winter, I had started experiencing sharp lower back pain. By January 2017 I was in and out of every general practitioner, specialist, and surgeon’s office possible, weighing all of my options. By early February 2017, I had lost the ability to walk, couldn’t feel the right side of my body, and was set to undergo outpatient spine surgery to remove the 1/3 of my disc that had . . . oh, ya know, just slipped right the heck out of my spinal column and disrupted my right nerve. Good times.
